What inspired you to include AHS in your estate plan?

Max

We recently posed the above question to our Legacy Circle members at Animal Humane Society—and we've been so moved by their responses.

One Legacy Circle member, Karen, told us she was inspired by the incredible accomplishments and transformations at AHS over the years. As a longtime supporter, she'd watched as countless new programs rolled out, services were added and innovations were made. Through it all, AHS continued to strive to keep getting better.

That's why she decided to include the animals in our care as a part of her legacy.

"I'm committed to animal rescue and want to provide support for AHS as they grow and continue to do incredible things for our four-legged friends."

Karen's love for animals first brought her to AHS where she adopted her barn cat, Max.

"I adopted Max from AHS many years ago to take over mouse duties in my horse barn. That lasted a few weeks until I invited this sweet boy into my home and made him a house cat! He loved everyone, including my son and even my Great Dane—they cuddled every day. He lived a long and happy life before passing away at 22—the best estimate we had. His personality was so incredible, that even though he passed away more than two decades ago, I know I'll never forget him."

You can ensure animals will be cared for in years to come by including AHS in your estate plan and joining the Legacy Circle. Then, share your story to help inspire even more animal lovers to join us in creating a more humane world for animals.
